Everything in this technological age runs on, and is totally dependent on, the availability of an abundance of energy supplies and resources. For a government not to adequately address, a problem that directly affects our national security and our economy is an indication of a total lack of vision, which involves the members of both major political parties!MY real political issues PEOPLE EMPOWERMENT PAGE LINKSA shortage of any essential element to the health and well being of our economy must be addressed to ameliorate or remedy that potential shortage, --that is Strategic Visionary Economic and National Security policy making which is totally lacking in America. Where are the great moderators of our presidential and congressional debate? Those probing and in-depth questions are never asked which lets the political parties off the hook, --therefore the need for Nader in the debates!
Candidates and media pundits are talking about short term issues of importance to the mature age voters and about a ton of totally nonessential meaningless trivia, —while the vision issues go unquestioned and not addressed! These issues will determine the destiny of America and the entire world and they are not the focus of the presidential and the congressional campaigns! God help us!
When such critical issues are not adequately addressed our entire economy and national security deteriorates which adversely affects peace and security on a worldwide basis.
Bush is not going to address this problem with renewable energy and therefore America will never become energy self-sufficient. Gore wants to begin an initiative to stimulate the speed up of conversion to nonpolluting renewable energy source supplies.
Any shortages of an essential element to our economy greatly increases the price of the element and leads directly to run away inflation, which could be avoided!
The Corporate Exploitation of the dirt cheap production countries simply imbalances the per capita earning power of the demand side of the economies of both the Developed and the Developing countries, and therefore, in the mid and long term everyone will lose. We need much stricter enforcement of antitrust laws to break up the true monopoly situations and not Microsoft!
Additionally, we must learn the lesson that low interest rates to competitors on the Supply Side are essential for effective competition in pricing and providing more than adequate supplies which ameliorates the threat of inflation at its source.
We could have a much more stable and sustainable economy without any serious business cycles but it takes effective government policy making to make these vital goals a reality.
